Clay & Wax

Description

Our Clay & Wax exterior detail service will allow our technicians to remove embedded contamination off the paint and glass surfaces a regular maintenance wash, or our Wash & Wax service can't remove. Before we start decontaminating the exterior surfaces, we first wash the exterior to remove loose dust, dirt, and road grime. During the wash process we will complete an our Iron Decon process to help chemically dissolve most or all the iron. To remove the rest of the embedded contamination, our technicians will use the proper grade clay bar (depending on the condition of your vehicle) and a special lubricant. The clay bar will be glided over the paint and glass surfaces to remove it. It will leave the surfaces smooth and clean ready to machine apply the coat of wax.

Using a liquid wax, soft pad, and dual-action waxing machine, our technician will apply a carnauba or cleaner wax, whichever wax best fits your vehicle's paint needs. Same wax will be hand-applied to all hard to reach areas to make sure all painted surfaces are protected. Wax residue will be removed with a fine microfiber towel, which is used only for the paint finish to prevent cross-contamination. The coat of wax will leave a deep wet shine and a more slick surface to help repel contaminants, water spots, and stains from easily embedding and penetrating the paint finish.

The Details add-on package is highly recommended. This will allow our technicians to clean and condition surfaces that will further enhance the look and feel of your vehicle.

Please Note: The clay bar doesn't remove scratches, swirls, stains, and hard-edged water spots from the paint finish. The machine wax may help minimize these issues but it is not the purpose of this service.

Is this service right for your vehicle

The Clay & Wax exterior detail service is recommended on over 90% of customers that are looking for an exterior detail service. It is perfect to have completed if you don’t remember or have not had the exterior surfaces decontaminated. It is also an ideal detail service to complete on a brand new vehicle to remove the contamination that built up during the transport and while it sat at the dealers lots.. The clay bar process will remove the roughness off the paint do to the contamination. It will leave the paint smooth as glass and ready to be protected.

If you are considering or if your vehicle requires this service, it is because your vehicle has not been washed frequently enough to prevent contamination from embedding itself into the exterior surfaces. The layer of dust that builds on our vehicle is more than just dirt and dust. This layer of dust also includes fine metal shavings like rail dust and brake dust. When your vehicle is exposed to moisture, especially overnight, it allows for these to cling and embed themselves into the exterior surfaces. If not removed quickly, they can permanently damage the surfaces.

Recommended Every

You want to minimize or even avoid the need to have your vehicle's exterior surfaces decontaminated. Some contamination can increase the possibility of introducing swirls and scratches into the paint finish as the clay bar is glided over the paint finish. Frequent washing, at least 2 times per month, can help extend and even avoid the need for clay barring the exterior surfaces.

Several factors determine the recommended time frame. Refer to the ones below to get an idea. If we wash your vehicle regularly, our technicians will make recommendations as we maintain it.
